Privacy Policy

Any personal information (e.g. name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card number, etc.) required for purchasing a ticket will be kept confidential and never sold to third-party vendors.

Any other data that we gather and input in our system may be used by the company to improve our customer service and the offers we provide to our customers.

Ticket Purchase Options

Buy Online: Tickets may be purchased any time online at booking.ridegobus.com. You can then either print your tickets out to bring with you and hand to the driver, or you may show your electronic ticket which you will receive via email to the driver by accessing it on a phone or other mobile device. Tickets can be purchased up to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

If a ticket is purchased online, please print it out or plan to show the electronic ticket to the driver. Stop locations will NOT be able to print tickets or provide access to an electronic ticket. If you are having trouble printing your ticket or accessing it electronically, please call our toll-free number 888-95-GoBus (888-954-6287) between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Traveling beyond the GoBus route on Greyhound? Purchase tickets through Greyhound (including the GoBus ticket) at Greyhound.com.

Buy at Ticketing Locations: Stop by any of our ticketing locations to purchase tickets with cash or credit card. A list of our ticketing locations can be found on this page of our website under the heading “Buy at a Ticketing Location.”

Buy over the Phone: Tickets may be purchased over the phone with a credit card by calling the GoBus office at 888-95-GoBus (888-954-6287) between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays. Once you have purchased your ticket with us, a link will be sent to your email address along with your receipt. Please either print out your ticket and present it to the driver when boarding, or plan to access it on your mobile device so the driver can scan it when you board. If you do not have an email address or are unable to print your ticket, we can mail your ticket to you. If you choose to have your ticket mailed, you must purchase your ticket at least 10 days prior to your travel date.

Buy from the Bus Driver: For an additional charge, tickets can be purchased with cash from the bus driver when boarding the bus, provided there are seats available. These are referred to as “non-reservation tickets.”

Important Information regarding purchasing tickets with the bus driver: Cash is accepted ONLY if seats are available. Passengers with advance purchase tickets board first. Please pay the driver as you board the bus. The driver can only accept cash. The exact fare amount is required – drivers do not carry change. Passengers must purchase a ticket from each driver for trips that require a bus transfer.

Greyhound Tickets: GoBus partners with Greyhound to provide seamless ticketing between GoBus routes and Greyhound routes. You can purchase tickets for GoBus and Greyhound to anywhere across the country on the Greyhound ticketing website or at any Greyhound ticketing agent.

Please note that rules and regulations vary between GoBus and Greyhound. We recommend reviewing Greyhound’s website for more information on their policies.

Ticket Prices

Prices are contingent upon the distance that is being traveled. All next stop trips are only $5 (for example, Athens to Nelsonville). Tickets are $5, $10, $15, $20, $25, or $30. In addition to the base fare, sales tax and a $2.50 service fee will be assessed with each purchase. Children 5 years old and younger ride for free. They do not need a ticket to board the bus. (See “Children Traveling” section for more information about traveling with a child.)

Ticket Refunds

Tickets bought online at RideGoBus.com or over the phone are refundable. All refund requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time and date printed on the ticket and be made during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM). Please note that a ten-percent (10%) cancellation fee is associated with each refund.

Sorry but, no refunds will be approved after the scheduled departure date and time. However, exceptions will be granted for substantial route delays or route cancellations.

What if I didn’t buy my ticket online at RideGoBus.com or over the phone? Tickets purchased through Greyhound’s website, a Greyhound ticketing counter, or a GoBus ticketing location are refundable only through Greyhound. Tickets purchased in cash from the driver are non-refundable.

Continuing Service Tickets

GoBus makes traveling by bus even easier by offering continuing service tickets on Greyhound Lines when tickets are purchased online or at one of our ticketing locations.

Traveling beyond the GoBus route on Greyhound? Purchase your tickets through Greyhound (including your GoBus ticket) at Greyhound.com but please note that our refund policy does not apply when our tickets are purchased on Greyhound.com.

Ticket Reissues

The time and/or date of a ticket bought online at RideGoBus.com or over the phone can be changed. This is known as a “ticket reissue.” All reissue requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time and date printed on the ticket and be made during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM).

It is important to know — only the time and date of the ticket can be changed. We cannot change the locations of where you are getting on or off the bus. Tickets can only be reissued one time and once a ticket has been reissued, it cannot be refunded.

Advance Tickets vs. Cash Tickets

Passengers who have purchased tickets in advance online, from one of our ticketing locations, or over the phone, will be boarded first. Passengers with cash will be able to purchase a ticket from the driver if seats are available.

We recommend purchasing your ticket in advance – especially if you are traveling on a Friday, Sunday, or in conjunction with a holiday. We make every effort to have a seat available for passengers holding a pre-purchased ticket. While purchasing a ticket in advance helps to ensure a seat is available, it is not a guarantee.

Fraudulent Tickets

We take fraud very seriously. Tickets that have been manipulated, changed, or altered in any way are considered fraudulent. In addition, tickets that have been reproduced, copied, or shared are considered fraudulent.

Do NOT purchase GoBus tickets from a third party that is not an authorized agent. The only way to ensure your tickets are authentic is to buy your ticket from one of the following locations:

Online via our website (ridegobus.com)

Online via Greyhound’s website (greyhound.com)

Online via Barons Bus’ website (baronsbus.com)

Over the phone by calling GoBus at 888-954-6287

Purchasing at an authorized Greyhound or GoBus ticketing location

Paying cash to the driver as you board the bus

If you are found presenting a fraudulent ticket, you will be held responsible. Ticket fraud and fare evasion are criminal offenses and may lead to fines and notification of local law enforcement, which could result in a criminal charge.

Delays or Cancellation of Service

GoBus operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We will only cancel service due to adverse weather conditions or other safety-related concerns. GoBus reserves the right to delay or cancel service.

Please note, buses that arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time are considered to be on-time. Wait at least 15 minutes before calling GoBus for an update on a delayed bus.

We do our best to stay on schedule; however, occasionally we do encounter delays due to weather, construction, traffic, mechanical issues, etc. When the buses get behind schedule, we notify passengers via the website and social media. We are working on implementing new technologies to not only help us stay on schedule, but also to notify our passengers when a delay does occur.
